Why empathy is our foundation

In a world where urgency often overshadows humanity, empathy is a radical act. Empathy is more than understanding. It is the willingness to truly witness each other’s realities, even when they are uncomfortable or painful. For changemakers, empathy is not a “soft skill”, it is the foundation for taking action, building trust, and sustaining collaboration.

However, in moments where we feel too much for the world around us, care so much for the causes we work on that we start burning out, empathy is also what allows us to reconnect with ourselves through self-compassion. By practicing empathy we can care for ourselves, build resilience - all while staying connected to our communities.

We see empathy as the connective tissue that holds movements together. It allows us to bridge divides, work across cultures, and center the dignity of everyone involved. Moreover, it is the foundation for care that sustains personal wellbeing and the communities that drive collective action.

Therefore we strive to create a world where movements grow from a foundation of care, connection, and collective liberation - and where young people feel less alone, more supported, and ready to lead just change that lasts.

How we show up

Bright green heart shape on a black background.

We begin with care

For ourselves, for each other, and for the environments we are part of. Care is not an afterthought but the foundation for everything we do, ensuring the well-being of people and communities as we work toward change.

We honor experience

As a vital source of wisdom, healing, and direction. Storytelling is at the heart of our approach—not just as a way of sharing knowledge, but as a way of producing it collectively.

We ground our work in justice

Because we believe that authentic connection and collective care require the recognition of and response to the interconnected systems of power and privilege that shape our lived experiences. Our work is therefore informed by intersectionality and decoloniality.

We center connection

As the bedrock of empathy and transformation. This means engaging with openness and generosity, listening deeply, and recognizing that we are all part of a wider web of relationships. Only then are we able to foster the communities that sustain us and build the relationships that drive collective action.

Join our mission

We empower young professionals that are committed to creating long term, just systemic change by fostering transformative spaces, resources, and communities that nurture emotional well-being and sustain collective action.
