South African Inequality, Opportunity & Investing in Impact: Afrorama's Chloé Bertand | noe Stories

“Tell me about yourself.”

In response to this simple question, Chloe Bertrand began to talk about South Africa – inequality, the apartheid, youths struggling to find a job. She also talked about the beauty of not only the country but the African continent as a whole, and its people – the ingenuity, inventiveness, and resilience.

It was clear from this alone that impact investment isn’t just something that she does – it is who she IS. Today, all across the African continent the unemployment rate is close to 25%, with some areas having it as high as 90%. This is precisely where the Afrorama jobs board and knowledge hub come in, providing the necessary awareness and opportunities for people to find employment.

Watch this video to find out how Chloé Bertrand began her project, what inspired her, where she’s going next, and how she defines empathy’s meaning.
